Vintage Handwoven Multicolored Cover for Zulu Beer Pot - Handmade in South Africa

This Zulu Imbenge Beer Pot Cover is tightly woven using grass and Ilala Palm leaves found in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, and is covered with just a touch of intricately woven and sewn beads in colors of green, fuchsia, black, blue and white in a traditional Zulu design pattern.

This traditional Beer Pot Cover tops the Beer Pot (Ukhamba) to keep dust and insects out of the homemade sorghum beer as shown in the last photo.

This Imbenge is shown, top, bottom and on an Ukhamba (Zulu Beer Pot) as an example of how it is used. The Ukhamba is not included in the price and the Imbenge on the example are not included in this listing price.
