The evolution of Dainese Smart Jacket, Smart Air is the innovative airbag system that can easily be worn over or under any outfit owing to its new minimal concept design that makes it incredibly lightweight and ergonomic.

Smart Air is extremely protective, as it integrates the revolutionary D-air®Road system on chest and back and owing to its exceptional lightness is also extraordinarily comfortable to wear.

The new Smart Air’s strong points are its triple-activation airbag, which doesn’t need replacing, as well as its practical gas generator, which can easily be replaced completely independently.

Level 2 certified chest and back airbag and a rechargeable battery boasting a 12-hour lifespan.

Use in the event of rain

In the event of rain, Smart Air has to be protected with waterproof garments.

If it is worn under the jacket, the jacket must be waterproof, otherwise the System will have to be protected with a rain jacket to wear over the jacket itself.

After use, if necessary, leave the device to dry in a ventilated location at room temperature; do not use hair dryers or other means of heating.

D-air® Road Shield 3X

The D-air® Racing Shield 3X shares the D-air® FRS (Fast Replacement System) technology that allows the gas generator cartridge to be replaced with the Smart Air D-air® Road Shield 3X.

However:

The operating algorithms
The shape and size of the bag, and
The size of the gas generator

are specific.

The gas generator of the D-air® Racing Shield 3X System is not compatible with the D-air® Road Shield 3X one.

Using electric motorcycles

Customers who own electric motorbikes can use Smart Air as a protective device.

As mentioned, in the absence of vibration, typical of internal combustion engines, the System disarms below the speed of 10 km/h.

This means that if an electric motorcycle rider is stationary and is hit, in the absence of vibration the System will be disarmed and will not activate.

How to take measurements?

Chest

Chest circumference
The measurement of the chest in its maximum extension during normal breathing, measured with the person standing, passing the measuring tape horizontally around the torso over the scapula bones (the shoulder blades) and just under the armpits.

Neck

Neck circumference
The circumference measured at 2 cm below the Adam's apple in the front, and at the 7th cervical vertebra in the back (i.e. NOT horizontally).

Waist

Waist circumference
The circumference is measured horizontally around the waist, just above the highest point of each of the iliac crest bones, during normal breathing, on the person standing, with a relaxed abdomen.
